Appointment of Mr. Sami YLÄOUTINEN as the new Auditor General of the SAI of Finland

As of 1 January 2022, Mr. Sami Yläoutinen has been appointed as Auditor General of Finland for a six-year term of office.
Mr. Yläoutinen is transferring to the National Audit Office of Finland from the Finnish Ministry of Finance, where he worked for over 20 years in various positions, most recently as Budget Director. During 2011-2014, Mr Yläoutinen worked in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. He is a Doctor of Sciences in Economics from the University of Jyväskylä where his doctoral dissertation focused on fiscal frameworks.
