eurosai 4 EDITORIAL Editorial NEW SECRETARY GENERAL OF EUROSAI Ms. María José de la Fuente y de la Calle was appointed President of the Spanish Court of Audit (SCA) in July 2018 by His Majesty King Felipe VI, for a three-year term. As President of the SCA, she also assumes responsibilities as Secretary General of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI). She joined the SCA’s Senior Corps of Attorneys in 1993 and began her career in the Audit Department of Autonomous Communities. She later served extensively in the international sphere, first as Director of the Liaison Unit with the European Court of Auditors, from 1999 to 2003, and afterwards as Director of International Relations, from 2003 until 2012. In July 2012 she was appointed Member of the SCA and took charge of the Audit Department of Local Entities, and, as from September 2015, also of the Audit Department of Political Parties, in this case the responsibility being shared with another Member. She holds a degree in law from Comillas Pontifical University of Madrid (ICADE).
