Coordinated Audit on Tax Subsidies Working Group
In the Conclusions and Recommendations of the VI EUROSAI Congress the advisability was agreed on of carrying out a coordinated audit of tax subsidies, open to all EUROSAI Members.
A Working Group was thus set up to coordinate the planning of the audit and to establish the contents and headings of it. Taking part in those works were the SAIs of Germany, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovak Republic, United Kingdom and Netherlands (observer).
The objectives of the coordinated audit were:
- Enhancing the sharing of knowledge,
- Enhancing communication between EUROSAI Members in areas of special interest,
- Obtaining best practice information,
- Strengthening informal networks,
- Improving cooperation with academic/research institutes.
The Working Group held various meetings: 10 and 11 November 2005 (Bonn, Germany), 21 and 22 February 2006 (Bonn), 28 August 2006 (Copenhagen, Denmark), 16 February 2007 (Warsaw, Poland), 11 and 12 September 2007 (Bratislava ,Slovak Republic). The Concluding Encounter of the Working Group was held in Bonn on 29 to 31 January 2008.
The Joint Report resulting from the coordinated audit of tax subsidies was presented to the VII EUROSAI Congress (Krakow, Poland, June 2008), in which the end of its mandate was agreed on.
