The 62nd EUROSAI Governing Board meeting was held electronically on 28 May 2024: Summary of Agreements

The 62nd Governing Board (GB) meeting was held electronically on 28 May 2024. The meeting, chaired by the SAI of Israel (EUROSAI Presidency) was attended also by the new members of the GB and as observer ECA.

The summary of the main discussions and agreements (SoA) of the 62nd GB meeting is the following:

  • The GB approved the agenda of 62nd GB Meeting, including to postpone the approval of the 61st GB minutes till next GB meeting.
  • The GB took note of the welcome to the new members of the GB and presentation of the First Vice President (SAI Slovakia).
  • The GB approved the election of SAI of Lithuania as the Second Vice-President.
  • The GB took note of the EUROSAI President's remarks, emphasizing key initiatives to advance our mission: establishing robust peer review, coordinating audits, allocating resources effectively, enhancing international interfaces, and fostering cooperation. He stressed the importance of GB meetings as professional forums for presenting audit reports, sharing insights, and inviting guest speakers from professional organizations to enhance our work.
  • The GB approvedthe definition and allocation of the portfolios within the GB:
    • SG1: led by the SAI of Lithuania.
    • SG2: led by the SAI of Sweden.
    • Portfolio on Overall governance and culture: led by the SAI of Israel.
    • Portfolio on Communication: led by the SAI of Spain and co-led by the SAI of Slovakia.
    • Portfolio on Relations with non-SAI stakeholders: led by the SAI of Italy.
    • Portfolio on Relations with INTOSAI and its Regional Organisations: led by the SAI of Spain.
    • Portfolio on Emerging issues and forward thinking: led by the SAI of UK.
    • A new portfolio:
      • Portfolio on Inclusiveness: led by SAI of Czech Republic, co-lead by the SAI of Israel.
    • Portfolio on Peer Review: the GB took note of the proposal to establish a new portfolio on Peer Review, which will be presented, discussed and submitted to vote at the next GB meeting scheduled for October 2024 in London.
  • The GB approved to designate the SAIs of the Czech Republic and United Kingdom as future representatives of EUROSAI in the INTOSAI GB.
  • The GB approved the appointment of the non-GB co-leaders of Strategic Goal 1 and Strategic Goal 2, the SAIs of Germany and Poland, respectively.
  • In relation to the implementation of the new Strategic Plan 2024-2030, the GB approved adopting the General Procedures for the implementation of the ESP 2017-2024 until new procedures for the ESP 2024-2030 are drafted and approved; and agreed to prepare some kind of paper on how to reduce bureaucracy in EUROSAI procedures, as well as how to assign the responsibility to the members of the GB in accordance with their portfolios. This document will be discussed in the next GB meeting.
  • The GB took note of the information on the XIII EUROSAI Congress presented by the SAI of Slovakia.
  • The GB took note that the 63rd meeting of the GB would be held in London, 30-31 October 2024.
  • The GB took note of the interest expressed by EUROSAI President for EUROSAI to collaborate with the OECD in different areas: performance auditing, periodic consultations, etc. As well as the possibility of sharing annual forums.
  • The GB took note of the information about any other business (such as the upcoming X EUROSAI-OLACEFS Joint Conference scheduled for 9th and 10th July 2024, hosted by the SAI of Mexico) and approved the proposal to include ECA as permanent observer in EUROSAI GB meetings.
